“ Such a good and chill omakase experience. I would definitely recommend any first timer to visit here first. The environment was not pretentious or intimidating in anyway. Chef Jason and his team were awesome. Everything was fresh and good quality. The pricing was fair. I like that there is a full bar right behind. I’ll definitely be back. ”
“ Perfect sushi!! Jason and Alfonso are amazing sushi chefs! Atmosphere is perfect... if you are solo sit at the sushi bar. If you are in a family full of differing tastes it’s the perfect place to have a communal table between sushi, pizza, tacos, & Rick’s Bar, etc. Something for everyone! Rockfish has delicious sushi! We’d follow Jason anywhere! Many have! ”
“ Quite possibly the best sushi I’ve ever had. Chef Jason’s Omakase was an incredible experience. Highly recommend to anyone who appreciates a unique culinary experience in a really cool setting. ”
“ I absolutely love this restaurant. Walking in is like being in an upscale food court with nothing but the best quality. A little pricey but well worth the experience, service, and your palette will keep you coming back. Rock Fish Sushi Bar is unlike any other, truly authentic cuisine and they serve nothing but the best. I order the same thing each time I go. I'll be going again real soon, I'll try to do better with more photos. Once the food is set before me, taking pictures seems to flee my mind. ”
“ Simply excellent. The best sushi you'll find in New Haven by a long shot. Rockfish manifests their noble philosophy, "Nigiri is truth." This is some of the highest quality fish I've ever had in my entire life (and I grew up on a tropical island). Order the Omakase and sit at the bar to receive starters of edamame and tuna sashimi in ponzu soy sauce, four rounds of nigiri, and two rolls–all freshly prepared in front of you. With every round, the wonderful staff explain what you're eating, where it's from, and how best to enjoy it. Critically, the fish, in all of its freshness and complexity of flavor, was the centerpiece of every single dish. Whether it was the creaminess of the yellowtail or the silky richness of the salmon, these sushi chefs knew how to perfectly complement the delicate flavor of the fish with a touch of wasabi and a bed of sushi rice. If you want to eat sushi as it was meant to be eaten, don't miss out on this special experience. ”
“ Chef Jason offers the freshest high quality fish! I’ve been here twice in one week! Can’t stop, won’t stop! Each crew member is warm and very attentive. Try their omakase and you won’t be disappointed. Please visit them @ East Rock Market in New Haven. ”
“ It's a Friday night, we wanted to treat ourselves at a Japanese restaurant. My friends already checked out this restaurant and recommended it to us. We arrived there at 7 and there were 2 seats available at the end of the table. We ordered the Rockfish Omakase Premium. They served sushi with the fat taste increasing. Sushi was fresh, delicious. The more we went, the better they were. So if you are looking for an Omakase in New Haven area, we recommend you to try this place. They don't have drinks, but you can order drinks from the Rick's Bar right behind you. Don't forget to have desserts, they are really good by Hen and Heifer. For me, the Omakase was not enough to be full. I ordered a couple more before the dessert. So the check was 188 (without tips). . Summary: Delicious, friendly chefs, clean, will come back. ”
“ The FUTO MAKI at Rockfish Sushi is fresh and delicious!! It’s packed with ingredients and has great balance, making each bite satisfying. The clean atmosphere and friendly service are also big pluses. ”
